Transport ManagementAdmin
Setting up transport routes and vehicles, assigning students to routes, and tracking transport fees.
The Transport module helps schools manage the full logistics of their bus fleet — routes, vehicles, drivers, student assignments, and the corresponding fees — in one place.
1. Creating Routes
Go to Operations → Transport → Routes → Add Route. Give it a name (e.g. "Route 1 — Lapaz") and list the pickup stops in order. Each stop can have an estimated pickup time so parents know when to expect the bus.
2. Registering Vehicles
Under Transport → Vehicles → Add Vehicle, enter: Registration number, Make/Model, Seat capacity, and the assigned Driver. Drivers are linked to staff records — add the driver as a staff member first if not already done.
3. Assigning Students to Routes
From a student's profile page, use Edit → Transport Route to assign them to a route. Or use Transport → Bulk Assign to assign an entire class at once.
4. Transport Fees
Create a fee type called "Transport" (or per-route variants) under Finance → Fee Types. Include it in the class bill for students assigned to that route — only those students get charged. Routes that charge different amounts (short vs. long routes) use different fee types.
5. Route Manifest
Print the Route Manifest from any route's detail page — it lists every student on that bus with their emergency contact and stop. Essential for attendance on field trips and daily pickup verification.
