Report Cards & Grading SystemAdmin / Teacher
Configuring grade scales, entering scores, generating PDF report cards, and managing remarks and class positions.
Report cards are one of AthenaStar's flagship features — fully automated from score entry to PDF generation, with grades, positions, attendance, and remarks all on one printable page.
1. Setting Up Grade Scales
Go to Settings → Grading System. Add a row for each grade: Name (e.g. "A"), minimum score, maximum score, and remark (e.g. "Excellent"). AthenaStar uses these boundaries to auto-assign grades when scores are entered.
2. Entering Scores
- Go to Academics → Edit Results.
- Select the class and active term.
- A spreadsheet grid shows: rows = students, columns = subjects × assessment types.
- Enter Class Score and Exam Score for each cell. Totals and grades fill in automatically.
- Click Save. Come back anytime to correct entries until results are locked.
3. Generating Report Cards
Go to Academics → Report Cards. Select the class. Preview individual reports or click Bulk Print to download one PDF with every student's report card for that class.
4. Class Positions
Positions (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.) are computed automatically when you generate a report — ranked by total average across all subjects. Equal totals share the same position.
5. Teacher Remarks
Teachers select a remark for each student from a pool managed under Academics → Manage Remarks. Admins or Head Teachers add standard remarks (e.g. "Works very hard — keep it up!") and teachers pick the most appropriate one, or type a custom remark for that student.
