Audit LogAdmin
Reviewing the school's activity log — who changed what, when, and from which IP address.
The Audit Log is a permanent, tamper-evident record of every significant action taken in your school's workspace — who added, edited, or deleted a record, and when. It's your first port of call for investigating any discrepancy.
1. Opening the Audit Log
Go to Compliance → Audit Log. You'll see the most recent actions first: timestamp, user, action type, and a brief description of what changed.
2. Filtering
Use the filters to narrow down:
- Date range — e.g. last 7 days, or a custom from/to
- User — filter to a specific staff member's actions
- Action type — e.g. only "receipt_deleted" events
3. What's Logged
The system automatically logs: student admissions and profile edits, fee assignments, receipts issued or deleted, user account changes, result entries, role changes, and system settings updates.
4. Investigating Discrepancies
If a receipt was deleted or a fee amount changed unexpectedly, search the audit log by action type ("receipt_delete" or "fee_assign_update") and date range. The log shows the user who made the change and the IP address it came from.
5. Exporting
Click Export CSV to download the filtered log as a spreadsheet — useful for submitting to external auditors or storing as an annual archive.
